Salary: Starting pay is between $16.902 and $27.889 per hour depending on qualifications plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule and range is 07-04.

Description:

Job Duties: Perform office and/or field audits of governmental units, private firms and other entities; assist in large, highly complex audits, follow-up or legal action; design or manage accounting procedures for automated PC or large computer accounting or auditing systems. Job responsibilities require application of accounting and auditing skills to complex financial systems in a wide variety of public and governmental accounting environments; accounting applications range from PC and local areas network based systems to large accounting information processing systems with highly complex statewide networks; accounting services support public service programs in education, health, environment, social services, transportation, business applications, assistance to local government, etc. The size and variety of our accounting and auditing environments provide excellent opportunities for diversified and challenging assignments, professional growth, and advancement.

Requirements:

 Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of contemporary accounting or auditing principles, practices and techniques; auditing skill in analyzing complex systems and records; GAAP; GAAS; federal tax; governmental accounting; cost accounting; financial statements; data processing systems, analyses, terminology and practices; statistics; well developed skills in speaking, writing, interacting with others and in comprehending highly complex written material.

Well Qualified applicants will have a four-year or advanced degree with a major in accounting or equivalent.
