California’s 10th largest city is seeking an Assistant City Manager. A diverse metropolis in heart of Orange County, Anaheim (pop. 341,000+) is home to more than 8,500 businesses.  The community is also known for its diverse neighborhoods, quality schools and appealing cultural arts. The City’s resort, convention and professional sporting venues help attract over 20 million visitors per year. A full-service municipality spanning 50 square miles, Anaheim is supported by approximately 3,100 employees and a total FY2012-13 budget of $1.5 billion.

 

The position will have line authority over assigned departments and will lead key community and economic development initiatives. Ten years of experience in municipal government with at least three years of senior management experience are required.  Experience serving in a diverse community is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is desirable.
