| Description: |
Portland Parks & Recreation is seeking a Central Services Manager to oversee approximately 80 staff under three supervisors responsible for major maintenance repairs and improvements for a broad array of assets such as parks, trails, playgrounds, pools, sport fields and courts, bridges, community centers and buildings for maintenance and support. This is a key decision-making position in the bureau that coordinates closely with the Parks senior management team, staff performing daily maintenance in parks and natural areas, planning and design staff, and strategy and asset management groups. The incumbent is responsible for budget preparation and management as well as organizes, directs and inspects the work of supervisors and staff engaged in engineering, construction, skilled trades, heavy equipment, construction management and asset maintenance. Assignments are broad in scope and require independent judgment on design, construction and maintenance issues that are complex and strategic. |

- Please provide an example that demonstrates your ability to develop a strong customer service culture, a diverse and highly skilled workforce, and a healthy and safe work environment.
