| Description: |
The Superintendent provides direct management and oversight of the facility, which houses approximately 100 clients with staff of 144+ employees. The position administers and coordinates operations and programs to include the oversight of treatment, health, safety, medical, recreational activities and services for the facility. In addition, the position will ensure CYFD and JJS policies and procedures are adhered to and that unit management is appropriately functioning to include ensuring staff development and training. The Youth Diagnostic & Development Center utilizes the Cambiar (Missouri Model). This position is a Pay Band 90.

Manager Concept* The General Manager I administers resources and operational activities to ensure delivery of products and services to citizens, customers, clients, etc.
Types of Employees Managed – General Manager I is assigned comprehensive and diverse staffing resources of mid-level managers and senior professionals.
Financial Accountability - Objectives managed has an extensive relationship to the mission of the total organization.

Develops goals for strategic plan within area of responsibility. Consults with community leaders and legislative bodies.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling fourteen (14) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements:
Completion of the hiring process is contingent upon successful post-offer completion of pre-employment screening process. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License as travel is required. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. On-Call is required for this position.
Knowledge
