The City of Concord, California (population 122,000) is located 29 miles east of San Francisco, adjacent to beautiful Mt. Diablo.  Concord is now seeking a City Manager. 

The ideal candidate for this position is expected to provide effective leadership, skilled administration, and a vision for achieving the goals of the Council and the community. A strong background in financial management is essential, and the Council is looking for someone with the ability to manage available funding with forward-looking effectiveness and the ability to find new resources to meet the City’s goals despite external constraints.  An ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge and experience in municipal budgeting.  Strong candidates for this position will have prior experience as a City Manager or Assistant City Manager in an organization comparable to Concord. 

Candidates for this position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is desirable.
