Location: 3010 Grand Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085

Coordinates, directs and evaluates daily activities of all file room operations within the Behavioral Health Services programs.

Establishes format for clinical record keeping across the various disciplines with the goal of uniformity of record layouts across BHS. Notifies program coordinators and Administration leadership when patterns of non-conformity in use of chart forms and charting formats are discovered. Performs service area and departmental quality assurance functions required for compliance, accrediting agencies and regulatory issues. Reviews both open and closed clinical records to determine completeness based on parameters established by third-party reimbursement and by BHS Performs administrative review of records utilizing formats for review developed by BHS. Provide assessment of coding area including evaluation of workflow, coding denials and assist with the appeals process as needed.

Requires an Associates degree and AHIMA certification or eligibility (RHIA or RHIT). Requires a minimum of 3 years experience in Health Information Management setting (preference in behavioral health setting) or related experience. Supervisory/administrative experience preferred.
