Community and Economic Development Director

Summary:

Phoenix is Arizona’s capital and the sixth largest city in the United States with more than 1.4 million residents within 519 square miles.  Phoenix is now seeking a dynamic, innovative, and results-oriented Community and Economic Development Director with a record of high achievement in economic development activities to oversee a staff of 102 and to undertake a variety of activities and projects to accomplish economic development goals in Phoenix. 

Description:

Strong candidates will have specific experience in managing development and redevelopment activities and programs for a large municipal government; negotiating large, complex projects with private sector partners; and working in an environment with limited resources. 

Requirements:

Candidates for this position must possess five years of progressively responsible executive experience in domestic and international economic development, redevelopment, and business assistance programs, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; as Master’s Degree is highly desirable. 

Special Instructions:
