Employee must have the ability to make appropriate decisions regarding general maintenance, specialty projects and inspecting areas of abnormal conditions with taking corrective action as necessary. Must work indoors/outdoors in inclement weather and deal effectively with the public. Must lead, plan and review the work of crew chiefs and programming personnel responsible for programming and athletics divisions of the parks grounds and recreational facilities. Assists in plans, organizes, implements and evaluates recreational activities within the park system.

Responsible for grounds, landscaping and programming services including, mowing, event planning, turf and field maintenance, painting, edging, weedeating, striping, welding, fabrication and electrical maintenance, repair, parks areas grooming/cleaning and inventory. Assists Parks Director in park planning for new/existing facilities and parks through project management.
Receives 24-hour emergency maintenance calls via radio or cellular telephone and provide appropriate responses
Prepares budget estimates for all areas of responsibility including, projects, programs, events; researches and develops grants and programs for the park system.
Stimulates public interest in and appreciation for parks activities and special events. Coordinates with local non-profit agencies for events in the parks.
Develop and maintain an ADA compliance report on specific ADA access issues emphasizing doors, walkways, greenways, restrooms and building ramps.
Coordinates with the City’s Risk Manager to establish best management safety standards for all facilities/parks and special events. |
