This position reports to the City Manager, serves on the City’s leadership team and oversees all functions and activities of the department. The Director leads a department of 28.25 FTE including seven direct reports and is responsible for developing, directing, coordinating, and implementing departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards. The Public Works Director evaluates needs and develops plans and schedules for long-range public works maintenance and capital improvement programs. The Director confers with engineers, developers, architects, and a variety of outside agencies and the general public in gathering information and coordinating public works, utilities, and parks projects. |
The Public Works Director has a strong depth and breadth of experience in systems, infrastructure and processes for maintaining operations. The new Director is passionate about public works and has a track record of advocating for infrastructure and maintenance.
