|BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:|
This position is in the Technology Services Department. The Technology Support Technician monitors and maintains data / telecommunications including VoIP end user support, personal computers, and mobile devices. Maintains Technology Services Service Desk integrity and customer support via identifying, evaluating, and coordinating mission critical system problem resolution. Performs other related work as required.
Knowledge of PC software including Microsoft products; PC hardware including printers and scanners; VoIP equipment including switches, handsets, and termination techniques.
Skill in troubleshooting traditional phone and VoIP systems, software applications, and basic network hardware problem resolution utilizing a common methodology approach; and developing clear computer instructions for hardware, software, and telephone systems.
Ability to perform multiple task assignments within busy office environment; remain current on new PC technology; follow oral and written instructions; develop and adhere to standards; work independently with limited supervision; provide instructions to others; clearly and concisely communicate technical information to a variety of audiences; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. A+, Network+, MCP certifications are a plus.
Experience and Training - Three to five years experience in PC user support to include Microsoft Office and/or telephone systems and graduation from high school, preferably supplemented by related college course work, or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training providing the desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
