This is a position at Mack Indoor Pool begining in September. Hours available will be Tuesday and Thursday mornings, weekday evenings and weekends.
Nature of Work: Responsible for the safety and well being of the general public swimmers under his or her assigned supervision. Also responsible for enforcing the established pool rules and regulations. Direct supervision and scheduling of this position are carried out by the Head Lifeguard. May also be assigned work duties in addition to lifeguarding. May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Required Qualifications: Minimum requirements of 16 years of age. CPR/AED, First Aid and Lifeguard certification required by start of employment.
Desirable Qualifications: Past experience in lifeguarding and/or aquatic activities.
Work Schedule: Because of the nature of swimming pool operation, weekend and evening hours are a necessary part of lifeguard scheduling. Scheduling systems may differ from one pool to another because of difference in programming, pool size or type, and other factors. Expected average hourly work per week would be around 35 hours per week. There are usually some periods during the summer that the hours per week may be lower than average due to inclement weather conditions. |
