2nd Shift Mechanic

Summary:

The City of Auburn is seeking to fill a full-time position for a Second Shift Mechanic.

Description:

Must have experience in the preventive maintenance and repair of cars, pick-up trucks, heavy duty trucks and equipment such as loaders and excavators. Duties include inspecting and repairing cars, trucks and construction equipment, overseeing preventive maintenance tasks, with working knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brake systems, gas & diesel motors and other duties as required. Successful candidate must be extremely dependable, must meet the physical demands of the job, and be able to work in all weather conditions. The Second Shift Mechanic will be used to supplement snow removal crews. Shift work and overtime, including nights, weekends and holidays are required.

Requirements:

Must have a High School diploma or GED; a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), a good driving record, State Inspection License issued by the State of Maine, (or attained within 6 month probation period); as well as a certification in mechanics, and documented history of experience and training in this field. Starting rate is $14.04 per hour and could depend upon qualifications and experience. The City of Auburn provides a competitive fringe benefit package.
