|Library Manager for Community Services|
|Organization: Chesterfield County|
Supervises, trains and evaluates the work of supervisory, professional and other staff.
|Directs and supervises the operations and activities of library public relations and promotions, including system wide services to all branches. Implements, enforces and monitors the policies, procedures, goals and objectives for library services; evaluates the effectiveness of services. Participates in the development of a department budget; authorizes and monitors budget expenditures for assigned department; develops and standardizes work procedures and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of unit services and activities; responds to customer inquiries and resolves difficult and sensitive complaints. Performs other work as required.
|Monday - Friday 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Master's degree in library science; five years of professional library experience in a medium to large-size public library, including two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to obtain a Librarian's Professional Certificate by the State of Virginia. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of library science. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to operate a personal computer and related software and other current library technologies; ability to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; ability to supervise staff. Performs other work as required.
