DESCRIPTION:

The City of Avondale Neighborhood and Family Services Department has an opening for a Family Services Volunteer for the Care1st Avondale Resource and Housing Center.
The Neighborhood and Family Services Department was created in 2006 to support and nurture the development of families and the neighborhoods in which they live. The goal of the department is to enhance the quality of life and sense of community experienced by residents and families in Avondale's many neighborhoods. The department includes: Revitalization, HOA Support, Code Enforcement, Family Services, Youth Development Services, and Community Development and Housing. |

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
|
Family Services Volunteer – Maintain appearance of the center, answer questions from the public both in person and on the phone, make copies for clients, send faxes for clients, become familiar with human services in the Southwest valley and beyond, prepare conference rooms for meetings, reminder calls for appointments, input data into various data keeping mechanisms, and communicate with staff to provide excellent customer service. |

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
|
Qualifications – 18 years or older, positive and enthusiastic attitude, interest in human services. This position would best be suited for someone with the desire to work with non-profits. Bilingual preferred. Time Commitment – Hours vary. |
