Direct all operational and planning activities of information technology services for entire city. Develop and implement long range strategic plans for all information technology current and future activities. Serve as an internal consultant to senior City Administration staff in identifying complex problems and provides cost effective and complex solution for their computer requirements. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors, contractors for all I.T. related projects. Manage citywide I.T. network infrastructure for best performance, productivity and makes improvements.
Supervise I.T. staff with direction, training and coordinate the activities of I.T. Department. Provide technical support to I.T. staff and develops policies and procedure. Supervise the daily activities of the wide-area-network (WAN – wireless, fiber, copper, etc.), local-area-network (LAN), wireless-wide-area-network (WWAN), Windows Server Systems (email, web, SQL, file servers, etc.), Unix Servers (AIX), Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone system and personal computers/peripherals for the entire City of Baytown.
Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work more than 40 hours a week. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services. |
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
2. Ten years experience in a related field with five of those years in progressive management and supervisory responsibilities.
3. Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
4. Clear criminal history.
