Minimum Education and Experience:
Junior in high school; high school diploma or some college coursework preferred. Minimum one year experience teaching swim lessons is required; comparable experience (for example several years on a competitive swim team) will be considered on a case by case basis. Must possess CPR, Emergency First Aid and AED certifications, or have the ability to obtain all of these certifications within forty-five days of employment start date. Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Certified preferred. Valid, Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
Certifications:
Applicants must possess the following certifications, or have the ability to obtain these certifications within forty-five days of employment start date:
- CPR Certification
- Emergency First Aid Certification
- Automated External Defibrillator Certification
Colonial Park Recreation Center: 4103 Byron (facility open seasonally)
Monday through Sunday 6:00 a.m. until 10:00p.m. or as needed.
*Other hours may be required based on private lessons, training, meetings, rentals or special events.
West University Recreation Center: 4210 Bellaire Blvd.
