THE SALARY
The maximum salary for the exempt Senior Project Coordinator (Code 1538) is $95,463.36 annually.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
This position is an Exempt Civil Service position under Charter Section 1001(b).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will be assigned to work in the newly formed Asset Management Strategic Planning Unit (AMSP) in the office of the City Administrative Officer (CAO).
As a result of the dissolution of the Community Redevelopment Agency, the City is in the process of establishing an Economic Development Department (EDD) to work with a Non-Profit Entity to implement the City’s economic development goals and projects. The final structure for this new economic development entity is being finalized. As a precursor to this new entity, we have established an AMSP in the CAO. The main focus of this unit will be to identify opportunities, provide the framework for and perform preliminary analysis on various asset management planning needs in the City.
The AMSP will identify areas of opportunity where the City can leverage its real estate assets for economic development. AMSP staff may be transferred to the new entity when it is created since one of its functions will be to manage, maintain, acquire, dispose of and lease City-owned real estate for economic development purposes.
The duties and responsibilities for the Senior Project Coordinator are as follows:
• Assist in the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans on the use, reuse, management and disposition of the City’s buildings and assets.
• Facilitate and develop specific development plans for mixed use development opportunities including partnering surplus proprietary department and non-proprietary department real estate assets with economic development opportunities.
• Assist in an analysis on consolidation of City operations (yards and shops, office space, regional facilities) into appropriate space to reduce City costs, including development of master plans.
• Coordinate with appropriate personnel at various levels in development of City mixed use capital projects, including appraisals, economic and financial analyses and negotiations. |
