The Loudoun County Health Department in Leesburg, Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Environmental Health Specialist position in the rural section.
Duties may include: Issuing permits, accurately entering data into the current County database systems and answering technical questions from applicants concerning sewage disposal systems, water supplies, policies and procedures. Position will also be responsible for inspections of sewage disposal systems and water supplies and investigating complaints. Enforcement of the State and County Regulations is required in regard to water and sewage disposal systems to insure compliance. Requires the ability to read permits and discern critical system information.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in public or environmental health or related field and a minimum of two years of directly related work experience. Must possess good computer skills and exhibit strong oral and written communication skills. General knowledge of onsite sewage disposal systems and water supplies is preferred.
Valid driver's license.
