DESCRIPTION:

The Solid Waste Intern is responsible for developing and providing education regarding solid waste and recycling, and organizing and participating in household hazardous waste and tire collections.

Description:
1.Develop and present solid waste and recycling curriculum to the public, including elementary school age children in all school districts within the County.
 
 
 
2.Develop, complete and analyze business survey regarding recycling activities, needs, and education.
 
 
 
3.Review and update the County’s website regarding solid waste and recycling.
 
 
 
4.Organize tire collections: obtain pricing from collectors, organize layout for collection sites, and participate in collections.
 
 
 
5.Participate in County household hazardous waste collection.
 
 
 
6.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Current participation in two or four year degree program in an environmental science or related field. Must be 18 years by date of employment. A valid driver’s license is required.
