Lake County is seeking a Staff Psychologist who will conduct a range of psychological evaluations for the Lake County Courts. 

The Staff Psychologist consults with the Probation staff regarding psychological issues for probation clients, conducts fitness-to-stand trial evaluations, conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations, provides crisis intervention, coordinates referrals, and conducts in-service training for probation staff on psychology-related topics.  They are also responsible for keeping abreast of changes in their field, completing Certificates for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization of probation clients, as well as supervising psychological interns and practicum students.

Required Skills

Requires a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and possess licensure as a State of Illinois Clinical Psychologist.

Required Experience

To be considered for the position, the candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of Post-Doctoral clinical experience and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.  Furthermore, the candidate must be able to become certified by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC).  To become certified with the AOIC, you must fill out the Probation and Court Services Employment/Promotion Application located on the Court's website, www.state.il.us/court.  Directions on how to submit the AOIC application are described within the document.  Paper copies of the AOIC application can be obtained from the Lake County Human Resources office, Court Administration, Adult Probation, or Depke Juvenile Center.
