The Mayor, City Council and City Manager of College Park, Georgia, are seeking an outstanding individual who has the experience and vision to provide direction, guidance and oversight to the citywide Human Resources and Risk Management Programs. The City of College Park operates under a Council-Manager form of government with a governing body of four Council Members and a Mayor. The City has a year-round workforce of 500 employees in 16 operating departments. The annual operating budget is $125 Million. The City is in good financial condition and is characterized by outstanding bond ratings and a steady revenue flow.
Starting salary range is market competitive DOE/Q plus benefits including car allowance, utility credit and moving expenses. This position is a contractual position. EOE.
A Bachelor’s degree in Public/Personnel Administration, Business Administration or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. Evidence of continued professional development through active participation in professional membership associations and activities such as Professionals in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources or International Public Management Association for Human Resources. 7 to 9 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management and risk management is required; local government experience preferred; Human Resources certification preferred (IPMA-CP or IPMA-CS; PHR or SPHR); and experience inGeorgiaand familiarity withGeorgialaws would be a plus.
