While the following requirements outline the minimum qualifications, only applicants who demonstrate the best qualifications match for the job will be selected to continue in the recruitment process.
At least four (4) years of responsible program management experience above the journey level in social services, eligibility and grant determination, employment and training, or administrative and staff services work in areas such as personnel, administrative analysis, accounting, auditing, budgeting, or data processing. Two (2) years of the experience must have been in a full time supervisory capacity;
Two (2) years of experience performing duties comparable to those of the California Interagency Merit System class of Program Manager I. Or, one (1) year performing duties comparable to the California Interagency Merit System class of Program Manager II, will fulfill the experience requirement.
And (for both options)
A graduate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a Master’s degree Social Work or a Master’s degree from a two year counseling program. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis).

This individual must be visionary and well versed in Health Care Reform, change management and organization development. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree, have strong administrative, human resources, or related fields skills, and be able to manage an operational budget, be knowledgeable about public assistance, workforce development and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
