Under immediate supervision perform work of routine difficulty in assigned clerical duties necessary to the maintenance of court records with an emphasis on financial information and inter-agency correspondence. The position requires constant contact with the public. An employee in this class performs assigned duties requiring limited knowledge or training and may include the limited exercise of independent judgment. The duties and responsibilities are similar in difficulty and complexity as those of a Clerk Typist. The difference is that this class does not require the proficient operation of a typewriter/word processor. Work involves occasional use of a typewriter/word processor, other office equipment, filing and working at a counter. Clerks process, index, sort and file paper, issue simple documents, post entries and check documents for error. Work is performed according to prescribed procedures and checked for accuracy and completion. This position is located at the Mundelien Branch Court Location.
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Good knowledge of English, grammar, spelling and the ability to perform basic math computations. Ability to readily acquire knowledge of procedures. Ability to get along with others. Ability to maintain and keep records. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. 18 years of age, U.S. Citizen, resident of Lake County and no criminal convictions or pending cases.
Position requires completion of a speed typing test.
Completion of a high school program. Valid Illinois Driver's License. Ability to type 20 wpm.
