The new Director of Human Resources will be responsible for ensuring that the Human Resources Department supports the respective missions of other City departments and provides a high level of service to managers, supervisors and other employees throughout the organization. The Director of Human Resources is appointed by and reports to the City Manager and is a vital member of the City's Senior Management Team. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering a comprehensive program of human resources related services and activities for the City.
The City of Rockville is seeking a Director of Human Resources with proven and extensive experience in human resources leadership and management in a similarly sized local or state government, public agency, or comparable private sector organization. The salary range is $107,263 - $162,081. The starting salary could be up to $140,000 depending on the selected individual's qualifications and match with the desired attributes sought by the City. The City offers an outstanding fringe benefit package. The City will pay reasonable and customary relocation expenses for the next Director of Human Resources.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field and at least seven years of broad based, progressively responsible human resources experience in a supervisory or management capacity; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
