Lake County is seeking a Master’s level clinician, preferably bilingual, Spanish-speaking, to provide individual, group and family therapies to juveniles within a Court-affiliated residential treatment setting.
Some of the presenting problems a candidate will encounter include: post-traumatic stress, conduct and other disruptive behavioral disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, and familial conflict. Other duties the candidate in this position will be responsible for include: crisis intervention, interviewing potential participants for placement programs, developing and implement therapeutic treatment plans in a juvenile court setting, tracking client progress, maintaining client files, writing court reports, and maintaining contact with outside agencies. This position falls under the category of Probation Officer and/or Juvenile Counselor.
A candidate in this position must possess strong communication skills, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to work as a team member. Preferably, the candidate will be fluent in Spanish. Some weekend and evening hours are required to accommodate client needs. A working knowledge of Microsoft office is also necessary.
We are looking for a candidate who is bilingual and has a Master’s degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling, or Social Work experience in individual therapy, group therapy, and family-focused treatment is required; one year experience in Juvenile Detention/Residential Services is preferred.
Any offer of employment is conditioned on the successful completion of a pre-employment medical exam which includes a drug and alcohol and background screening.
