Purpose of Job
Under general supervision, serves in a civilian capacity responsible for observing, monitoring, and controlling routine and unusual traffic conditions relating to the parking, stopping or standing of vehicles. Enforces all local and state laws that regulate the parking of motor vehicles.
Essential Job Duties
•Observes, monitors, and controls the parking of motor vehicles within the City of Franklin.
•Enforces all local and state laws regulating the parking of vehicles within the City of Franklin and issues citations as necessary.
•Maintains open lines of communications with supervisors and makes suggestions regarding parking within the City.
•Secures warrants from the Court for failure to obey parking citations.
•Represents the City in City Court when necessary on matters pertaining to parking violations.
•Acts as the department’s liaison with the Downtown Franklin Association with regard to parking permits.
•Places barricades and removes barricades for special events, street closures, and parades.
