Known as Central California’s Swedish Village, the City of Kingsburg is a full-service city with a FY 2013/14 General Fund Budget of $4.6M and 45 funded positions. Candidates for consideration will be comfortable in a small town environment (pop. 11,590) and truly enjoy the many attributes that Kingsburg has to offer.
This top caliber individual will view City Hall as being a focal point for citizens and will actively promote an open/approachable government model. The City Council desires to have a broad pool of candidates (California/Out-of-State) to review that bring a strong business sense and financial expertise combined with success in economic and community development. The added ability to balance quality-of-life, business, and commerce while embracing an innovative approach to public-private partnerships is a definite plus.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in the management of a department for a small to mid-size organization or as an assistant city manager or city manager. Salary is DOQ with an excellent benefit package including CalPERS Retirement. Serious consideration will be given to Out-of-State candidates if those individuals possess at least some of the key attributes, skills and overall leadership that are of critical importance to the City Council.
A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree may be a plus combined with relative experience.
