Evaluates and assesses clients.
Prepares and implements treatment plans with clients. Provides therapeutic and supportive services to clients, including individual, group, and family counseling and case management. Prepares and presents education seminars to clients, their families, the general public and other service providers on chemical dependency and/or mental health. In ACT programs, responsible for coverage and emergency telephone interventions. Counseling duties are community based, case management activities are community based. Teach daily living skills to class members transitioning into the community from institutions; Supervise and educate on healthy living skills, grocery shopping, budgeting, and all life skills pertaining to independence.
With an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in behavioral sciences or related field, three years of experience is required, or with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related field, one year of experience is required, and if a recovering person, they must have two years of demonstrated sobriety. Preferred CADC
Possess knowledge of chemical dependency and mental health. Knowledge of the DSM IV; Experience woth those with severe mental illness and community case management;
