The City of Stockton is seeking a Deputy City Manager to fill a critical leadership role on the Executive Management team. The ideal candidate must be a collaborative and creative problem solver with a solid background in city management. The Deputy City Manager must also have the ability to create and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders in the community. The ideal candidate will show a high degree of execution and results in managing municipal finances. It will also be desirable to have experience in developing the capacity of an organization through training and development of staff.
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) college or university with major course work in business, public administration, or a closely related field; AND five (5) years of increasingly responsible administrative work, including at least four (4) years of lead or supervisory experience. Possession of an advanced degree is highly desirable. Experience in working with varied public agencies and with citizens’ organizations is desirable.
