Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC)
Employment with the AOC provides individuals with an opportunity to have a direct impact on the quality of court programs in California. Imagine the chance to tackle a
myriad of important issues facing the judicial branch, including jury reform, drug
offenses and the courts, traffic programs, juvenile court improvement, child custody
mediation, domestic violence, child abuse, and state funding of the trial courts, to
name a few.
The role of the AOC has evolved significantly over the course of the last decade, as
California's judicial system has undergone dramatic changes in response to shifting
needs and growing public expectations. Today the AOC is a dynamic knowledge and
service organization dedicated to advancing leadership and excellence in the
administration of justice in California.
The staff of the AOC comprises approximately 600 individuals including attorneys,
budget and financial analysts, information technology professionals, program
analysts, secretarial and administrative support staff, researchers, human resources
specialists, and others.
The AOC is based in San Francisco at the Hiram W. Johnson State Office Building,
