Incorporated in 1913, the City of Homestead is the second oldest city in Miami-Dade County. Located near the southern-most tip of Florida, Homestead is paradise between Miami and the Florida Keys. Ten miles west are the vast mangrove forests and watery sawgrass plains of Everglades National Park, a subtropical wilderness. Thirty miles north is the City of Miami. To the east and south are Biscayne Bay and its underwater national park, the Florida Keys and the Atlantic Ocean.
