POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION The Sustainability Intern develops and implements strategies and actions to pursue the sustainability goals of the City of Westminster. The position assists the Chief Sustainability Officer with a variety of projects, programs and initiatives working with staff, businesses, community organizations, and the Westminster community to pursue innovative solutions. The successful candidate will gain significant skills that translate to both public and private sector sustainability positions. This is a full-time, benefited position. The duration of intern appointments is generally a maximum of three (3) years. Position Information The Sonoma County Regional Parks Department is looking for energetic individuals enrolled in workforce development programs to complete ecological restoration and park infrastructure and maintenance projects! Examples: Conservation Corps North Bay, SAY (Social Advocates for Youth), etc. As part of the twenty-four (24) week program, you will be provided with meaningful, paid work experience, environmental education and recreation experiences, the opportunity to explore outdoor careers and develop work-readiness skills. As a Work Experience Intern, you will participate in structured on-the-job training assignments in various Regional Parks units and learn about their functions and procedures. Position Information The Sonoma County Regional Parks Department is looking for energetic individuals enrolled in workforce development programs to complete ecological restoration and park infrastructure and maintenance projects! About the Opportunity THE POSITION The Deputy Sheriff Intern classification will be used to provide a formal training program for individuals who are 18 through 24 years of age with the goal of providing incumbents the opportunity to experience law enforcement and determine their career goals. Incumbents will be provided with the skills and competencies necessary to meet the demands of becoming a public safety officer while preparing them for a full-time law enforcement career. Candidates will attend the POST academy and/or CORE academy as their college schedule permits. Stanislaus County will bear the cost of the POST academy and CORE academy. Deputy Sheriff Interns may attend the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified Regular Basic Course (RBC). Over the course of the approximately 740 hour RBC, incumbents will receive intensive academic instruction in law enforcement procedures combined with rigorous physical fitness training. Successful completion of the POST Regular Basic Course requires full-time attendance for approximately four months in addition to off duty study time. Deputy Sheriff Interns may attend the CORE academy at the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center. Successful completion of the CORE academy requires full-time attendance for approximately six weeks. The first year incumbent may be assigned to work in the Adult Detention facilities under the direct supervision of a Facility Training Officer (FTO). About the Opportunity THE POSITION The Deputy Sheriff Intern classification will be used to provide a formal training program for individuals who are 18 through 24 years of age with the goal of providing incumbents the opportunity to experience law enforcement and determine their career goals. Job Location: Sikeston District Office The highway design intern d uties may range from technician-level to entry-level professional depending on student knowledge, skills, and abilities. The design intern performs computations for preparation of detailed construction plans for a portion of, or a complete, highway project. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision. DESCRIPTION THE POSITION The City of Long Beach Technology & Innovation Department (TID) is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a Senior Administrative Intern to assist with updated GIS data using Esri software suite. Opportunities also exist for automation and application development with access to the entire Esri stack. Non-Career employees are allowed a maximum of 1,600 work hours available over a 12 month period and are considered temporary, at-will employees who are not typically eligible for benefits. However, non-career employees may qualify for health coverage and sick leave accruals subject to applicable federal and state provisions. THE DEPARTMENT The Technology & Innovation Department (TID) plans and develops the technology infrastructure for the City and provides a centralized resource for technology deployment and support throughout the City. The Department integrates people, processes, and technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of City services through the work of its 181 FTEs while operating on a FY 2023 annual operating budget of nearly $70 million and multi-year capital projects budget of $101 million. TID is organized into five bureaus: Business Operations, Digital Services, Enterprise Information Services, Infrastructure Services, and Technology Engagement & Support. The Department also manages LBTV, a production studio that develops custom programming and distributes City multimedia content via its broadcast TV station and social media platforms. Opportunities for automation and application development with access to the entire Esri stack. Collect, create and manipulate data - through editing, workflow, and versioning. Perform data maintenance by updating information such as attributes and metadata. Create maps and apps for Departmental clients by applying analysis and cartographic principals. Create web maps, including interactive, based on business needs. Performs other related duties as required. REQUIREMENTS TO FILE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Currently standing as a Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program with a major in Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science, Geography, Urban Studies, Information Technology, Software Development, Computer Science, or related degree focus, from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or higher (proof required ) OR Recently graduated from an undergraduate program (within one year of application submission) from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.0 or higher (proof required ) . DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with GIS principles and methodologies. Proficiency with Esri GIS software Experience editing within Esri’s ArcGIS Pro environment. Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or Arcade. Familiarity with ArcGIS Online or Portal. Experience identifying opportunities for automation and/or self-service.
