The successful candidate will serve as the key member of the City Manager’s executive team and will lead and coordinate special projects and develop policies to enhance the City’s goal of being a high performing organization. Reporting to the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager will work collaboratively with departments on special projects identified by the Council and City Manager to launch or enhance initiatives in support of the City’s strategic goals; work on policy issues that impact City operations; and assist the CM and ACM with important city-wide issues and projects.

 

Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience in policy analysis, project management, and civic engagement with a passion for public service. Proven ability working in a sophisticated, dynamic, and demanding urban city with significant leadership and management skills is essential.

 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration or a field related to public policy along with eight years of progressively responsible executive management experience is required.
