About the Opportunity THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The Public Works Department is looking for a candidate to fill the Heavy Equipment Mechanic III position in the Morgan Shop. This applicant will need inventory control experience as well as extensive experience in rebuilding engines, transmissions, front suspensions, and differentials. THE POSITION The Heavy Equipment Mechanic III assists in leading, training, planning, and organizing the Morgan Shop staff. This is the advanced working and/or lead level class in the Heavy Equipment Mechanic series. Performs related duties as assigned. Individuals who are in a full-time classification position are required to serve a twelve-month probationary period, which may be extended an additional six months, for a total of eighteen months.
