    Job Title: Traffic Control LeadDepartment: ConstructionReports To: Traffic Control ManagerEmployment Status: Non-ExemptPrimary Location: Commerce City, COCompensation: $35 - $40/hr. + Full BenefitsJob SummaryThe Traffic Control Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of traffic control crews to ensure the safe and effective management of vehicle and pedestrian traffic in and around construction or work zones. This position leads the implementation of traffic control plans, ensures compliance with regulations, and acts as the primary point of contact between field staff and management or contractors.Job ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily operations of traffic control teams, including flaggers and technicians.Read and interpret traffic control plans (TCPs) and ensure correct setup in accordance with project requirements and regulations.Set up, adjust, and maintain traffic control devices such as signage, cones, barricades, and arrow boards.Conduct site safety inspections and ensure work zones are compliant with local, state, and federal traffic safety standards (e.g., MUTCD).Train, mentor, and provide direction to traffic control personnel on proper safety protocols and procedures.Coordinate with site supervisors, law enforcement, and emergency services to ensure smooth traffic operations.Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control strategies in real time as needed.Complete and submit daily reports, timekeeping records, and incident documentation.Ensure all team members wear appropriate PPE and adhere to safety protocols.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum 2–3 years of experience in traffic control, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Certification as a Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) or equivalent (e.g., ATSSA, state DOT certification).Knowledge of MUTCD guidelines, OSHA safety standards, and local traffic laws.Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.Preferred Skills & QualificationsAbility to operate traffic control devices and vehicles (e.g., message boards, trucks).Conflict resolution and teamwork capabilities.Ability to read blueprints, maps, and site plans.Comfortable working under pressure in high‑traffic environments.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentPhysical DemandsFrequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.Ability to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and on uneven terrain.Use of hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and controls.Visual and auditory acuity required to operate equipment and ensure safety in field environments.May involve long periods of driving between job sites.Work EnvironmentWork is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and potentially hazardous materials and environments.May work near moving mechanical parts or in high‑traffic areas.Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, reflective vests, and steel‑toed boots.Irregular hours, overtime, and on‑call availability may be required based on operational needs.BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Benefits401(k) Program with a Company Match.Free Wellness Resources & Marketplace DiscountsPaid Maternity & Parental LeavePaid Basic Life Insurance & Voluntary OptionsThe pillars of Congruex culture are GRIT, safety, inclusion, and family.Fine Print: We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to employees in similar roles.
