You will author maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft, requiring hands‑on experience developing aeronautics technical publications.What You Will Be DoingAs a Technical Publications Writer – Level 3, you will author maintenance instructions for a complex aircraft, requiring hands‑on experience developing aeronautics technical publications.Successful candidate will be able to:Effectively work with multiple engineering and customer support representativesUtilize engineering technical data to develop aircraft maintenance instructionsKey ResponsibilitiesWork with a team and independently to develop and deliver technically accurate maintenance documentationVerify and certify technical publications content to ensure corrective measures are met and documentation is compliant with requirementsCommunicate with engineering and customers to fulfill program requirementsBasic QualificationsHolds a Final DoD Secret ClearanceExperience interfacing with operational and maintenance personnel in dynamic operational work environmentsExperience interpreting complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and/or specificationsFamiliar with MIL‑STDs, MIL‑DTLs, and/or Tech Order authoring of military manuals; experience controlling changes and version control, supporting release managementDesired SkillsExceptional attention to detailExperience with markup language authoring (knowledgeable in element and attribute XML tagging for S1000D‑compliant interactive electronic publications)Experience with database entry and managementExperience evaluating technical order changesUnderstanding of aircraft inspection requirementsExperience with electronic technical publications task relationships, applicability, and change managementSecurity ClearanceThis position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen.
