    Emergency Medicine Physician

    The Emergency Medicine Physician provides urgent and emergency care services to patients within the scope of their license. This role involves performing rapid medical examinations, diagnostic testing, assessments and screenings, managing acute treatment plans, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals. The Emergency Medicine Physician also instructs patients and family members on emergency conditions and treatment options during their stay in the emergency department, as well as other duties as assigned.

    50,000 annual ED visits Level III Trauma Center 33-bed Emergency Department with 3 trauma bays 37 hours/day physician coverage 36 hours/day NP/PA coverage Scribe support provided Specialty care rooms (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.) Advanced trauma capabilities + 13 cardiac-monitor beds Education/Training: No specific training required Clinical Experience: New graduates acceptable: EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered. IM w/ five years continuous full time experience in high volume (>30,000 visits per year) emergency department License: Active unrestricted IN Medical License, IN State Controlled Substance, DEA w/ IN address & schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4 Board Certification: Board certified - ABEM/AOBEM or current ABMS-recognized specialty with at list five years continuous full time experience in high volume (>30,000 visits per year) emergency department Merit Badge: BLS Immunizations: Flu (within current flu season |TB (past 12 months) or Chest X-Ray with positive TB Vaccinations, COVID Case Log: Documentation of case logs for past 2 years. CME/CEU: Completed CME Attestation Form during application process Specific Facility Procedures: Moderate Sedation Malpractice Coverage: Malpractice coverage through Coverys ($500K/$1.5M), Indiana Patient's Compensation Fund (IPCF) enrollment, 10-year claims history

    Minimum Requirements
    • Graduation for an accredited medical school as a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
    • Licensed as an Emergency Medicine Physician by the state in which the provider is practicing.
    • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by a nationally accredited medical organization (e.g., American Board of Emergency Medicine - ABEM) is preferred unless required by contract.
    • Specialty Certification as per client request and/or state regulations if applicable.
    • One year of experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician preferred.
    • Three years of experience in the emergency medicine field preferred.
    • Role may require collaboration with advanced practitioners per state/facility requirements.
    • Current CPR if applicable
    • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
    • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
    • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice under licensure and scope.
