This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Dispatch Supervisor and the Assistant Supervisor/Trainer. This position receives and dispatches routine and emergency telephone calls and radio communications from and to citizens, law enforcement, ambulance, fire and rescue,and other public safety agencies.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
The below certifications can be earned during on the job training.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Six to twelve months related experience or training; Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties are generally performed in an office setting with a controlled environment. There are times when the work environment is chaotic with multiple situations occurring at one time. Position requires shift work with some overtime required as needed. This position is subject to being on call or called out during emergency situations. This position will work all shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays.
