    DUTIESUnder the supervision of the Fire Chief, performs a variety of mid-level management, general administrative and advanced technical fire-fighting and emergency medical services (EMS) duties related to protecting life and property of city residents. Manages day-to-day operations of assigned personnel and programs, including but not limited to fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials, containment, fire investigation, emergency medical response, etc. Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines; plans, organizes and directs operations at emergency incidents and planned events; and provides general and complex assistance to the Fire Chief.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from High School or G.E.D. plus two (2) years of specialized training related to fire science, business management, public administration or related field.Experience: Eight (8) years of full-time fire and EMS related experience, Three (3) years of full-time command staff experience.Special Requirements: Utah State Driver\'s License, Utah State Fire Officer I Certification, Utah State Paramedic Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support & Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification; Red Card Certified.; Apparatus Driver Operator - Pumper (ADO) Certification, Apparatus Driver Operator- Aerial (ADO) Certification, Wildland Firefighter I, Hazardous Material Awareness and Operations, Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification through Utah State Fire Academy, and NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 qualified.Optional: Technical Rescue Levels, Rope, Swift Water, Ice, etc.SALARYHiring Pay Range: $42.51 to $55.26 per hour depending on qualifications and experience plus a comprehensive benefits package (health insurance, dental insurance, Utah State Retirement, life insurance, vacation time, sick time, etc.)SCHEDULE40 hours per week M-TH: 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Schedule will vary based on need and staffing issues.
