    Material Flow AnalystSpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.Material Flow Analysts are focused on using data to support effective inventory management and efficient material flow at Starbase. They improve, maintain, and monitor the Materials Management toolset to assist operations with daily production support functions and continuous improvement. Material Flow Analysts possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as a solid understanding of material flow fundamentals including inventory control, storage strategies, part routing, packaging concepts, lineside replenishment and materials management systems.ResponsibilitiesSupport inventory accuracy: Monitor inventory data daily via the cycle counting program to ensure a high level of accuracy and immediate reaction to process failures or incorrect behaviorsDrive continuous improvement: Use data to identify opportunities for process and systems improvement and lead efforts to implement changes that result in improved safety, inventory accuracy, delivery and/or productivitySupport production: Work closely with leaders, production coordinators and specialists to ensure that parts are flowing through the process and available on the lineside for production. Proactively identify and resolve part shortages or inventory discrepancies to prevent production delaysReport on metrics: Conduct frequent reviews of area metrics to support leadership in tracking performance and identify trends for improvement. Prepare and present clear, data-driven reports with actionable insightsCollaborate on critical projects: Support successful project completion by providing data to enable design decisions, owning key task completion, monitoring progress and ensuring on-time completionBasic Qualifications1+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chainPreferred Skills and ExperienceProficient in use of SQL in operations analysisExperience building and using business intelligence tools such PowerBI or TableauProficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) for data aggregation and analysisAbility to analyze data and check for accuracy/errors based on process and systems knowledgeExperience with inventory management and production systems (MRP/ERP systems)Demonstrated capability to manage projects with tight timelines and ambiguous problem statementsUnderstanding of Supply Chain and Inventory Control fundamentalsExperience sharing information effectively and ability to influence decisionsExperience with lean, six sigma or related operational efficiency principlesAbility to work autonomously or as a team in a highly demanding and fast paced environmentExcellent written and communication skillsAdditional RequirementsMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestonesThis position requires being onsite – remote work not consideredTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
