    Correctional Services Supervisor

    Routine correctional work supervising residents detained at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center (AJC), which is a facility licensed by the Department of Corrections. The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2026. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $26.07 - $39.42 per hour.

    A list with no closing date, which means we are always accepting applications. When an applicant applies and passes the qualifying assessments listed below, they are placed on an eligible list. When vacancies arise, AJC requests names for interview. We filter the list according to schedule preference for the current vacancy and refer names for interview to AJC.

    Arrowhead Regional Corrections does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for Arrowhead Regional Corrections, on a full-time basis. Arrowhead Regional Corrections does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

    Distinguishing Features of Work

    An employee in this class provides correctional services for minors detained at AJC. Employees in this class are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, juveniles and staff and counseling residents by modeling and teaching social skills, problem solving skills, and conflict resolution. Duties include providing direct care and supervising residents in a 24-hour 7 day a week (including holidays) facility; performing security checks and managing crises and conflicts as they occur; documentation of daily activities; medication delivery; providing transportation; and assisting residents develop life skills. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

    Work Environment

    These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Balance; coordination; smell; stand; walk; hearing; vision; work with others; clients with behavioral challenges; and shift work. OCCASIONAL: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 50 pounds; crouch/squat; grasp/handle; kneel; reach above shoulder; rotate trunk; sit; and stoop/bend. RARE: Crawl.

    Selection Process

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail): High school diploma or its equivalent. Twenty-one (21) years of age or older OR between eighteen (18) years of age and twenty-one (21) years of age AND enrolled or completed course work in a postsecondary education program to pursue a degree in a behavioral science, according to Minnesota Statute 2960.0240. Possession of a valid driver's license.

    • One (1) year full-time paid verifiable experience in a correctional facility, group home, behavioral health program, hospital security, treatment program, shelter, or a related field.

    RATING SYSTEM: Supplemental Questions will be 100% of the scoring process: Points will be awarded based on the applicants answers to supplemental questions 12-15. Experience beyond ten years may be included on the application for purposes of meeting minimum qualifications or informing the hiring authority of your complete employment history. Failure to answer and save all of the questions on the "Supplemental Questions" page within 30 minutes may result in the deletion of your answers by the application system.
