This role is a Sales Engineer (SE) who provides pre‑sales technical support, product demonstrations, solution design, and post‑sales customer service.Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted advisor by delivering sales presentations, solution designs, demonstrations, and proofs of concept.Design and articulate technical solutions that solve customer business problems or create new service offerings.Develop, maintain, and present high‑level technical knowledge of F5 product set, industry trends, and sales aptitude.Prepare and maintain presentation material, white papers, and use cases for customers and partners.Analyze and compare competitive landscape; share insights with peer group.Champion a collaborative, team‑based environment, sharing methodologies and building lasting relationships.Negotiate and resolve conflicts; pursue solutions for technical or business challenges.Manage change request (CR) and customer special request (CSR) cases on behalf of customers.Uphold F5's Business Code of Ethics, reporting violations promptly.Use Salesforce.com to track opportunities and named accounts.Support technical account planning and territory account planning.Engage with F5 Technical Support and customers to resolve issues.Customer Support Activities Articulate F5 sales strategy, messaging, and positioning aligned with customer objectives.Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer technology staff and management.Deliver high‑quality customer service during pre‑sales and post‑sales activities.Present at CxO level and detailed technical staff levels.Post‑Sales Activities Understand and follow critical issue process.Partner with F5 Technical Support to resolve post‑sales issues.Qualifications 8+ years of related industry experience in a dynamic high‑tech environment (BA/BS or equivalent work experience).5+ years of pre‑sales experience.System administrator skills with UNIX, Microsoft, or application knowledge.Solid grasp of LAN and WAN networking protocols (switching, routing, security – Layer4‑7, firewall, DDoS).TS/SCI clearance required; TS minimum preferred.Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.Strong understanding of industry trends and cycles.Experience with Application Delivery Control, Application Access Control, SSL intercept/inspection, Web Application Firewall Security.Knowledge of LTM, DNS, AFM, DDoS application development.Experience with open source and public cloud technologies (GitHub, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM templates, GCP).Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, static/dynamic code analysis, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (tcl, python, assembly, C, JavaScript, Node.js, Linux OS).Full‑scope polygraph clearance.Physical Demands & Work Environment Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer. Responsibilities include computer use, telephone communication, and reading printed material.
