Security Officer – Overview This role serves and supports the patient delivery system, minimizing disruption, renders service support as needed to run hospital operations, and strives to provide an exceptional positive experience to all people. The role will be responsible for critical incident management, ensures responsible care of patient valuables and weapons in our control and completing property inventory logs as required, ensures that patient valuables are well maintained and items are accounted for, establishes an active security presence, providing surveillance, personal escort, courier service, vehicle assistance and inspections.Key Responsibilities Critical incident managementEnsuring responsible care of patient valuables and weapons in our controlCompleting property inventory logs as requiredProviding surveillance, personal escort, courier service, vehicle assistance and inspectionsEstablishing an active security presenceRequired Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredCurrent Indiana Driver's License requiredOne year of security experience in a healthcare or related setting preferredMust obtain Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year from hireAbility to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de-escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrestAssists Law EnforcementStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to perform basic computer functionsAbility to work independently as well as within a team environment effectivelyLeadership skillsOrganizational skillsAbility to work under stressful situationsAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingAbility to be detail oriented#J-18808-Ljbffr
