  • Summary

    Coordinates repair and maintenance functions to minimize vessel downtime and loss of revenue and cost of repairs, creates repair requests, vessel maintenance reports, oil sample analysis' etc;Prepare recommendations for work, initiate procurement of materials;Responsible for ordering and maintaining machinery parts and engine room supplies.Inspect machinery and equipment and draw up job specifications. Oversee contractors when working on-board to ensure completion of work at minimum cost.Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs;Investigate machinery casualties to determine cause, and advise head office in best practices of operation to prevent recurrence of casualty or maloperation.Oversee the transfer of necessary fuel, water, and lube oil to the boat.Ensure that all jobs are properly estimated and accurate purchase orders are issued;Complete approved projects, track and manage daily work and participate in inspections with regulatory agencies;Maintain records of vessel maintenance and repairs.Assist on deck with making and breaking tows and handling lines as needed.Other tasks as assigned by the Port Engineer and Port Captain#J-18808-Ljbffr
