    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking an experienced Marine Estimator to join our team.

    This position is responsible for managing the estimating and bidding process for marine and underwater

    construction projects, from bid solicitation through final submission and projectturnover.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial diving and marine construction, along with a

    strong background in project estimating, bid preparation, project planning, and competitive project bids.

    This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to develop

    accurate production rates and project execution strategies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage all phases of the estimating and bidding process from bid issuance through final proposal

    submission.

    • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to ensure complete understanding of

    project scope and requirements.

    • Prepare accurate take-offs and detailed cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials,

    subcontractors, and production activities.

    • Develop project production rates, dive crew compositions, equipment requirements, and project

    durations in coordination with Operations Managers and field personnel.

    • Identify project-specific risks, operational challenges, and logistical considerations and

    incorporate them into project estimates and execution planning.

    • Determine appropriate means and methods for marine and underwater construction activities.

    • Prepare and manage all bid documentation, subcontractor/vendor solicitations, clarifications, and

    required proposal submittals.

    • Participate in internal bid reviews and ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and compliant

    with bid specifications.

    • Coordinate and attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as required.

    • Identify bidding opportunities through public bid platforms and existing client relationships.

    • Assist with subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and scope coordination as assigned.

    Skills and Requirements

    Experience in marine construction/commercial diving estimating and bidding - required.

    • Commercial diving experience and/or strong operational knowledge of commercial diving

    practices - required.

    • Strong understanding of marine construction means and methods, production rates, and project

    execution planning.

    • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, technical drawings, and contract documents.

    • Working knowledge of applicable construction regulations, safety standards, and industry

    practices.

    • Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

    • Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.

    • Ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and

    management teams. • Experience with CAD and drafting software - preferred.

    • 5–15 years of marine construction /commercial diving experience - preferred.
