Special Requirements Some positions must obtain an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education issued by the Nevada Department of Education or a comparable certification issued by the Nevada Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C office within three years of appointment to this series or a comparable certification. (This license requirement applies only to those positions directly involved with children from birth to eight years of age with developmental delays.) Some positions must meet federal guidelines for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional designation at the time of appointment. Some positions require a valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
