Job Title
Leads the work of a team responsible for the consistent and accurate application of personnel security and suitability regulations, policies, and internal procedures in support of the DFAS Personnel Security mission.
Interprets/applies Executive Orders and regulations; Department of War, DFAS and Office of Personnel Management directives, policies, and instructions, providing definitive technical guidance on personnel security and suitability program operations.
Determines completeness of personnel security investigations to assess security eligibility of an individual; investigates and researches complex or sensitive personnel security/suitability situations with significant impact to agency operations.
Prepares written documentation in support of the personnel security mission such as internal standard operating procedures, reports, training and instructional materials, and briefings.
Assigns and reviews work ensuring consistent application of personnel security/suitability regulations, policies and internal procedures. Assesses training needs and conducts in-service training for team.
Duties as described reflect the full-performance, GS-12, level. Duties assigned to an entry grade of GS-11 will be developmental in nature.
