    ResponsibilitiesSupport traffic engineering design and analysis for municipal and transit projectsAssist with corridor traffic analysis, intersection operations, and signal timing studiesSupport preparation of traffic signal, ITS, signing/striping, and MOT/TCP design plansPerform traffic data collection, QA/QC, and technical analysis tasksAssist with traffic simulation and operational modeling effortsPrepare technical reports, exhibits, figures, and project documentationCoordinate with project teams and support client meeting preparationSupport project delivery for local agency and transit clients including Sound Transit and local municipalitiesAssist senior staff with project coordination, field reviews, and construction support activitiesSupport development of traffic studies, operational analyses, and multimodal improvement conceptsWork as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projectsConduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segmentsFocus on traffic design, including accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, striping, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), including real‑time traffic information, adaptive signal control, closed circuit television (CCTV), and variable message signs (VMS)Preferred QualificationsComputer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, AutoCAD and MicroStationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fieldInterest in traffic engineering, traffic operations, and transportation planningFamiliarity with traffic analysis and design software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, or VISSIM preferredExperience with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teamsSelf‑motivated with strong problem‑solving abilities and willingness to learnInterest in municipal and transit‑related transportation projectsExperience with data analysis, GIS, or technical report preparation is a plusAbility to manage multiple assignments and work in a fast‑paced consulting environmentRequired QualificationsConduct traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, Autocad and Guide Sign softwareConduct operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and AimsunConduct safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety SoftwareAbility to multitask while working on many projects at onceAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a mustEmployment Equity StatementAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.We are an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.We consider all qualified applicants, regardless of criminal histories, arrest and conviction records.Primary location: United States-Washington-BellevueJob posting date: May 15, 2026#J-18808-Ljbffr
