The salary for this position, as represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, Local 21, is scheduled to receive a Cost of Living Adjustment of at least 3% effective November 6, 2017.
Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) has an exciting opportunity for a Public Information Specialist at our Concord, CA office. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated to perform a variety of professional public information duties, including preparing press releases and publications, conducting community information and educational programs, contracting and overseeing the activities of services providers, developing content for and managing District websites, preparing various internal District communications, and preparing or assisting in preparation of graphic products to be used as part of public information services. Receives direction from supervisory or management staff. Exercises technical and functional supervision over clerical staff, other District staff, contract service providers, and volunteers as appropriate.

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Two years of professional public information experience including responsibility for media relations and publication preparation. Graphics and desk-top publishing experience, including public service experience, are desirable.
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
