Program Specialist Sr CalOptima CalOptima Health is seeking a highly motivated an experienced Program Specialist Sr to join our team. The Program Specialist Sr (Medi-Cal and CalAIM) will be responsible for supporting various projects related to Medi-Cal and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) initiatives and assist in daily operations of services. The incumbent will plan, analyze, research and coordinate Medi-Cal and CalAIM projects. Additional services include bulk and large brush collection, street sweeping, dead animal collection, and a drop-off center for hard-to-recycle items and household hazardous waste. The Environmental Program Specialist ( EPS ) is a customer service-oriented position that assists with the collection of household hazardous waste from residents. This position will work within the Diversion Facilities Division at the Household Hazardous Waste collections facility. The EPS is in charge of receiving, identifying, segregating, and storing bulk/package hazardous waste from residential households per TCEQ , DOT , and EPA regulations. They set up, break down, and clean the Household Hazardous Waste facility. The EPS coordinates with waste disposal companies on packing and loading hazardous waste for transportation and they act as the primary contact for customer inquiries. This key role will review hazardous waste contracts from all City of Austin departments and assist them with proper disposal and handling of hazardous waste. The class of Associate Program Specialist is distinguished from the next higher class of Program Specialist in that the former class is the entry-level class in the series and is in training, learning the full scope of the assigned duties and responsibilities. While the latter class is the journey-level class, independently performing professional-level work and having full responsibility for overseeing a particular program within a County agency/department. Incumbents in the class of Associate Program Specialist are expected to gain experience and demonstrate proficiency which qualifies them to promote to the higher level class of Program Specialist after the equivalent of one year of full-time service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Either I Experience: The equivalent of two years of full-time experience in one of the following classes: Supervising Eligibility Technician; Health Educator II; or, Consumer/Family Relations Program Assistant in the Alameda County classified service. Duties include but are not limited to conducting reviews of program, resident surveys, and case files; understanding and interpreting state, local and federal policy; policy and program recommendations; revising and maintaining procedures and manuals; producing reports and developing spreadsheets; providing technical assistance to staff as needed; assisting, developing, providing and coordinating training; working with sister agencies, services recipients and providers for the betterment of the program and to maintain quality; participating in work groups and performing related duties as assigned. Special Notes The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
